Mid-Summer Drop Shotting

Went fishing on a hot Saturday to do some drop shotting on Lake Lanier. Met up with Lanier Jim and Ron Shuffield and talked for a few minutes. Ron is a really cool guy and has been on fire in the tournaments lately. 3 consecutive top-10 finishes in a row and 3rd in AOY points! We will be rooting for him in the Forest Wood Cup in August on Lanier. He's also a Wackem pro-staffer. We were drop shotting a big Sissy in LJ's Passion mainly, but also threw Cotton Candy some with no success. I also caught one on the new Dahlonega color, which is a real nice looking transperent fruity color. For the Sissys we soaked them in Kick 'N Bass Garlic scent. Also, the new Wackem Lil Mad Minnow produced for us on the drop shot rig. Other than the DS rig, I've been throwing the Sworming Hornet Fish Head Spin with either a Wackem Paddletail or Mad Minnow soaked in Anise Shad KNB. The Sworming Hornet Dude is also something to try, but that and the FHS are more of a big fish bait.
